Finn and the Moonlight Library

Finn the fox loved collecting small things. He kept smooth stones, silver feathers, and bright buttons in his green backpack.

One evening, Finn saw a golden key under an old oak tree. The key was warm, and a tiny moon was carved on it.

“What do you open?” Finn whispered.

Three fireflies blinked beside the tree. Flash, flash, flash! Then they flew behind a curtain of ivy. Finn followed them and found a little wooden door in the trunk.

He put the key in the lock, but the door did not open.

A quiet voice asked, “What becomes bigger when you share it?”

Finn thought about his stones. If he shared them, his collection became smaller. He thought about his cake. That became smaller too.

Then he remembered teaching his little sister how to find the North Star. After the lesson, they both knew the way home.

“Knowledge!” Finn answered. “Knowledge becomes bigger when we share it.”

The door opened. Inside the tree was a moonlight library. Books floated gently between the branches, and ladders moved by themselves.

The librarian, a small owl with round glasses, smiled. “You may take one book, Finn, but you must bring back one new idea.”

Finn chose a book called A Map of Hidden Paths. He read it with his sister that night. Together, they drew a new path on the last empty page.

The next evening, Finn returned the book. It was no longer only a book he had borrowed. It was a book they had helped to grow.
